The Nokia Asha 501 can now be pre-booked for Rs. 5,299. The S40  powered handset is listed on the Flipkart website and is expected to hit the stores in early July.

Asha 501 is a dual SIM bar type handset sporting a 3 inch capacitive LCD touch screen with resolution 320×240 pixels. The handset is 12.1mm thick and weight is less than 100 grams (91 grams). The primary camera is of a decent 3.2MP resolution with 3X zoom. LED flash on the rear and a front camera are missing.

The Nokia 501 runs on the Series 40 proprietary OS with Touch UI. There is 64MB on-board memory and external micro SD support of up to 32GB. The handset doesn’t support 3G but you can surf the net using EDGE / GPRS services.

Asha 501 includes a 1200 mAh battery with impressive talktime of up to 17 hours and standby time is around 26 days.
