The Nokia Asha 311, as expected, was launched today with price band of under Rs. 7,500. This is a single SIM phone with 1GHz speed running on Series 40 propriety OS with Nokia Touch user interface.

Of the three handsets namely the Nokia Asha 305, 306 and this one – the Asha 311, the Nokia 305 is already available in the market. The price tag seems good but really does not come anywhere near to the Android phones. However it is good option for Nokia lovers.

The Nokia Asha 311 comes with trimmed features like 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM with 140 MB user internal storage. This seems less, however do note that this handset runs on S40 OS and the memory requirements are more than enough for that OS.

The capacitive touchscreen display is with Gorilla glass for added protection. The screen size is 3 inches with 240×400 pixels resolution. This Nokia phone supports 3G (14.4Mbps), 2G and comes with a Full Focus 3.2 megapixel camera (no flash). The Asha 311 weighs 95 grams with 12.9 mm thickness.

The 1110mAh battery (BL-4U) gives standby time of about 32 days and talktime of up to 6 hours on 3G network. When using 2G network only, you can expect a talktime of about 14 hours and standby time of around 29 days.
