Nokia today at an event in India launched the Nokia 2 smartphone. Key highlight about this handset is the 4100 mAh battery that it houses. The smartphone however is powered by Snapdragon 212 quad core processor and sails on Android Nougat.
Nokia 2 as mentioned is using the Snapdragon 212 quad core processor coupled with Adreno 304 GPU. The CPU is clocked at 1.3GHz. This is a dual SIM handset that features a 5 inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, the display also comes with gorilla glass 3 protection.
Android 7.1.1 runs out of the box, and the Nokia 2 will get Android 8 update. There is 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage and 128GB micro SD support. This smartphone is IP52 certified that makes it splash proof.
Coming to the camera there is 8MP AF camera on the rear with flash support and a 5MP camera on the front. Other features are 4G, VoLTE, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1. There is a 4100 mAh battery that should really give a very good backup as the handset is using Snapdragon 212 quad core chipset.
Nokia 2 will hit the stores in 3 different color options from mid November 2017 and price will be around Rs. 7,500.

Gogi Ji is sd 212 powerful than SD 400 or not
it will be the first Android oreo powered phone with 1gb ram
Crap phone…. PLAIN AND SIMPLE
If Nokia fans defend and buy it
Nokia”Hmd global” will make more of this crap and they think Indian will buy anything in name of nokia at any price… Don’t give them that chance
Our government should banned this crap
So who you guys are to comment on nokia, rather 2, are you the designer from OEM?, or from the firmware benchmark tester of nokia?, or any of its fidelity department?; there is one thing in engineering thats called OFT, its called clocking to the exact output of designed spectrum of one time DOS setup to kick the ROM core to prepare the working engine
Hence if the 32bit mup is clocked to the chipset’s ghz, then its called optimally fine tuned, the scenario is most if the OEMs they have done it!!, its not vissible to end users, because its their trade order of day, so
nokia is king always, its the one brand even after a gap of 17years can plunge in and create sensation, and take hotspot, which is not possible for other brands
aa gaya ….Fan

If Nokia has returned to the market only for making customers fool then better they should shut their business immediately. Otherwise after incurring huge loss, closing the business will be very much embarrassing.
THIS should have been the JioPhone
Kam se kam itna specifications se ekk smartwatch bana lete.
I have shortlisted nokia 2 and samsung j2 2017 for my senior citizen mother. The price of both are same. Can anyone help me choose between the two?
Both are pathetic. Why don’t you buy a Redmi 4 instead? It is better than these craps in every possible way. But if I am forced to choose between the two, I will choose Nokia 2. The display and battery life would be better in the case of Nokia 2.
I hate miui. Thanks for your suggestion. I will buy nokia 2.
Ok.. But why not have a look at other phones in this price range. I am again saying this as Nokia 2 is not at all worth your money. There are better options out there. Even a phone like Moto c plus(which I don’t consider any good) is much better than Nokia 2 or Samsung j2 2017. If you can raise your budget a little further, Lenovo K6 Power will be a nice choice. My aunt(a senior citizen)is using k6power and pretty happy with it.
Moto C Plus doesn’t have proximity sensor and the screen quality reportedly is not that good, also may have some issues with Jio sim.
She doesn’t need the power of Lenovo k6 power so why spend the extra money?
Sorry, wasn’t aware of the absence of proximity sensor in Moto c plus.
If you buy Nokia 2, I am sure it will start lagging within 1 year. Even an elderly person who uses phone for basic needs will notice the sluggishness as the processor is so under-powered and outdated. And many apps may stop supporting 32 bit chip in future and so you may not be able to use it for long-term. If you want to use phone for long term, isn’t it better to invest extra Rs.1500 and buy a k6 power instead of buying nokia 2 and then having to replace it with another phone in an year or so? And k6 power is not so powerful. It just has a low-end processor and is ideal for basic users.
Oops I thought the k6power was priced at 8999(my aunt had bought it at that price).
Even Redmi 4a is much much better than these nokia2 and samasung j2 2017. I have redmi4a 32gb ROM 3gb ram version which I bought from Flipkart at 6300 only. It has snapdragon 425 almost all sensors Full HD 1080p recording with both front and rear cameras with EIS. 13mp PDAF rear camera 5mp front camera.
Than buy a feature phone that will be best. Because after few months of usage it will lag for sure.
Than what you will do??
In this tume 1GB RAM 8GB internal is useless for basic use also. And yes it has the useless Snapdragon 212.
So may be you can invest on Redmi 4A and download Nova launcher premium that is cheaper. Plus cover glass protector.
And after all of that it is cheaper than Nokia 2 also.
She occasionally watches JIOtv. That’s why need a smartphone.
Nokia 2 is sufficient for that. Lag is not that much of problem.

This phone may be a joke but two things are very interesting to me
First is that there actually is a 32 bit version of Android 8.0. Frankly I should not have suspected that there would even be such a thing.
Second is whether this 32 bit can actually run on a phone with these specifications. Not necessarily give great performance but just basically run and not freeze up every few minutes.
From Lollipop onwards 2 gb RAM has become the basic minimum. So if Google have actually done some optimization with the 32 bit version of Android 8.0 so that it can actually run on these meager specs that is great news for the ultra budget section(3 to 5 k) For many people with basic needs a good phone with the latest Android version at this price will be awesome. No doubt the Nokia 2 itself will drop to this price in a short time.
From lollipop the minimum ram requirement have been reduced to 1gb.
Hi don’t understand how it is good news for ultra budget users. Phone with a 32 bit hardware cannot fully utilise android Oreo whatever optimisation google does. Forget 32 bit, the processor is a 2 year ultra low end one and do you think such an soc can handle Oreo? Software updates are great if the hardware is good enough, otherwise it is only going to make things worse. Yes , yes, you will still be able to do basic tasks if you are patient enough. But why don’t buy a phone with a better chip inside. Let’s say the Nokia 2 price falls as low as 4k in a few months, still what’s the point in buying a phone with 2 year 32-bit chip running on Oreo? It would be much better to buy a phone running on nougat but housing a 64 bit recently launched good enough mediatek processor.
Even for 32bit os 2gb Ram is required in 2017. All apps are getting heavier each with new release versions adding new features and hence need more Ram. they could have given 3000mah battery to save cost and added 2gb Ram in place of 1gb. That would have been more balanced approach.
@Sachin 11
Still, the processor is an antique piece. Only archaeologists/antiquarians should be interested in this phone.
Many phones are available in the market with 1 gb ram and nought os. Google already optimized its Android 7 and above os to run on even 512 mb ram.
Yes, Ashutosh you said it right…..
Google optimised its OS to run on 512 MB Ram
Note: Only Phone will be running No Apps please….
So, all In All Enjoy Nougat not apps…
4000 fit price for the hardware
3500 is brand premium
Wonder how many will pay 3500 as the premium?
Pathetic specs for the price. Only Nokia fanboys and offline customers will buy this.
jio phone has sd205 and Nokia 2 is sd212 and both using same 304 gpu. it should have 2 gb ram sd 425 pros. i think Nokia targets basic users competing Samsung j2 in offline market
what a great market stratagy of nokia ALL MBA employee are fool. in era 2017 launcjing product of 2015
Nokia used to bring this type of phone in 2015…with windows os…now it’s doing the same with Android phones.Chinese brands have leapfrogged in last 2 years. Intex and Micromax are way ahead.
2017 biggest flop mobile of the Year goes to Nokia

Most of the people are criticizing about 1GB RAM,8GB ROM,SD212 CPU and cost Rs 6000. But if you compare this phone with many other phones in the price bracket 4000 to 7000,you will be surprised that those phones have 1GB RAM, 8 GB ROM, mtk CPU and battery less than 3000mAh.
Imo Nokia has reasonably priced compared to other brands.
You will be more surprised to know that Redmi 4 is similarly priced and has double the RAM/ROM + finger print sensor. Presence of all important sensors is a bonus.
Bhai mere 5000 me to IVoomi me3 aa raha hai jisme nokia2 se badiya feature hain . MTK 6737 64 bit processor 5.2 inch shatterproof HD display with 2.5 D curved display ke saath 8mp front and rear camera. Nokia 2 se double ram 2gb and 16 GB ROM. Air Maine to surf 6300 me king Redmi 4a kharida hai WO bhi 32gb ROM aur 3gb Ram wala. Nokia 2 a big disaster.
Aur redmi4a me to snapdragon 425 processor aata hai.
Even my mom,s IVoomi Me1 is better than nokia2 as it is only 3150 on Flipkart.
