Nokia has announced another low cost phone called the Nokia 108 for a price tag of $29. This handset when launched in India could be priced at around Rs. 2000.

The Nokia 108 is a basic phone with an ultra low price tag that sports a 1.8 inch screen with 160×128 pixels resolution (of course with a non-touch screen). The handset does come with a basic camera of VGA resolution and can record videos.

The 108 model will come in red, white, yellow, blue and black colors and will also be available in single SIM and dual SIM versions. The dual SIM will cost a little more. Handset is 13.5 mm thick and weight is around 71 grams. For input there is the traditional alphanumeric keypad with call, power/end keys and 4 way navigation options.

The Nokia 108 runs on Series 30+ OS with 4MB RAM and external memory card support. 108 comes with FM radio, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.5mm audio connector, built in MP3 player, vibration alert and micro USB port. There is no Wi-Fi and data network supported are 900MHz, 1800 MHz (2G).

The removable battery of 950 mAh capacity (BL-4C) gives a talk-time of up to 13 hours and standby time of up to 25 days. Users can play MP3 for almost 40 hours. The handset will soon hit the stores probably with a price tag of under Rs. 2000 – a good backup option, maybe.
