    1. If you’re on stock you should get OTA soon, rollout has begun for RN 4 from Nov 3. If not on stock you need to do it manually.

  3. Did they unlock 4G band 2100MHz frequency for RN4 with this update?
Is it even possible with a software update?

    1. it should unlock support for Airtel volte ….but final unlocking will be done by Airtel after inserting Airtel 4g sim.

      1. I was not asking about VoLTE.
LTE Band 1 is not supported by many Redmi phones due to this Vodafone 4G signal itself is not received in them. Airtel and Idea also not received in some circles.

  4. Currently my redmi note 4 is on miui 9latest glabal beta update 7.11.2.

Is it advisable to get the miui9stable rom

  7. Majority of people wants latest Android updates not miui And xiaomi is always busy tweaking their miui skin( which everyone hates) most of xiaomi users are stuck at lollipop or marshmallow
To be honest, stock Android is the best

    1. if not interested in miui then you can root your device and install latest Android Roms… without loosing warranty. miui forum has all the info on this.

      1. xda is a boon for such users. I am using resurrection remix rom in RN4, apart from 1 or 2 bugs, I am completely happy with its performance.

    2. How stock android is best? Apart from clean ui, it offers nothing else. Particularly the stock android camera app is pretty bare bones. Manufacturer ROMs have tonnes of features and better basic apps plus they are better optimized then the stock android. In fact many of the features from various manufacturer are slowly being incorporated by android itself.

      1. That’s why playstore exist, and if i want more features there’s always rooted apps and mods…
Well you have a good point and thanks 4 all your honest opinion

I m just saying manufacturers 1st priority should be Android updates not their custom skins
        I mean look at this
        Os user
        Lollipop 22%
        Marshmallow 32%
        Nougat 17%
Oreo is at mind blowing 0.2%

        This is current Android situation

And 90% apple users are always at latest ios

      2. If interested in MIUI but don’ t like Xiaomi update cycle, then get the Xiaomi.eu ROM. It’s excellent in performance, removes the bloat but retains the useful features. They use China MIUI ROM as base but make it for global use. It works really well for performance and battery life.

  8. Got the update yesterday on my rn4.update size is around 220 odd MB. So far so good, haven’t encountered any kind of issue till now.

    1. Yes it will but in early december, if you can’t wait then look for beta ROMs from MIUI forum

  9. I’m using redmi note 4 , company launch miui 9 stable version for mi phones on 2 November & I still not get miui 9, waiting for it, since so long….

  10. I got my MIUI 9 update on my Redmi Note 4….Working good till now and the version is 9.0.3. 0 Global

  11. No update for mi4i … we are still stuck in lolipop
no update for r3 as well ?
well time to say good bye to xiaomi

  12. Xiaomi skipped Redmi 1s this time, but OEM organization’s still giving updates to redmi 1s best eg. Lineage

    1. it’s been 3 years Xiaomi has been providing updates but now it’s showing its age…looks like Xiaomi will not provide further updates. Time to root it and install custom Roms like Android Naugat.

    1. I guess low Ram issues. it’s having 1gb Ram which is not sufficient for heavily skinned miui 9.
I am having redmi 1s running on miui 8 and its struggles retaining more than 1 app in memory.

      1. it’s not the ram or storage. Chinese redmi 1s is getting regular updates even the latest miui9 beta 7.11.2. xiaomi stopped giving updates to global redmi 1s after miui 8 beta 7.1.19

        1. Chinese rom does not come with Google play store that’s why it consumes less Ram. once you install play store and update apps, it consumes most of Ram and slows down.

  13. Majority of people wants latest Android updates not miui And xiaomi is always busy tweaking their miui skin( which everyone hates) most of xiaomi users are stuck at lollipop or marshmallow
