As per the report from CounterPoint an independent research & consulting firm, Micromax becomes the leading mobile vendor in India (Q2 2014). Micromax (16.6% share) has clearly beaten Samsung (14.4% share).

When it comes to handset shipments share in India Micromax is at 16.6%, Samsung at 14.4%, Nokia at 10.9%, Karbonn at 9.5% and Lava at 5.6%. In terms of Smartphone shipments share in India, Samsung is still leading with 25.3%, Micromax at 19.1%, Karbonn at 5.9%, Motorola at 4.3% and Nokia at 4%.

When it comes to feature phone shipments share Samsung’s share has dropped considerably. Micromax at 15.2%, Nokia at 14.7%, Karbonn at 11.4% and Samsung at 8.5%.

As per the report Samsung is still leading in the smartphone segment, followed by Micromax and Karbonn. Interestingly Motorola that has just been aggressive thanks to the Moto G, Moto E and the Moto X has overtaken Nokia.

According to Canalys – another market research compan, Xiaomi has beaten Samsung to become the largest vendor in China in Q2 2014.
