Micromax today launched a low budget smartphone, the Micromax Canvas Spark that comes powered by MediaTek quad core processor running Lollipop over a 4.7 inch screen for Rs. 4,999. This handset will be available exclusively on Snapdeal.com.

It is using the same hardware that powers the InFocus M2 smartphone. The Canvas Spark houses the 1.3GHz Cortex A7 MediaTek MT6582m quad core chipset with Mali 400 GPU. It sports a 4.7 inch screen with qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution. Interestingly the screen is with corning gorilla glass 3 protection.

Android 5.0 Lollipop runs the show with 1GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB of internal storage. There is micro SD slot that supports cards of up to 32GB. An 8MP AF camera (OV Sensor 8858) is packed on the rear with LED flash and a 2MP fixed focus camera (Largan Lens) on the front.

 

Key features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. The 2000 mAh removable battery should easily give a up 24 hours of mixed moderate usage time. As per the company it gives up to 7 hours of talk time.

The key advantage of Canvas Spark when compared with InFocus M2 is Android Lollipop. M2 is running KitKat. However if you look at the screen resolution M2 is better (4.2 inch with 1280 x 720p resolution). Spark has its own advantage gorilla screen + lollipop. Micromax Canvas Spark will be available on Snapdeal for Rs. 4,999 – Registrations will open from 22nd April, 12 noon.
