Micromax A44 Superfone Punk with 800 MHz CPU launched

Micromax A44 Superfone Punk is the new funky Android handset launched by Micromax. This is different from the already existing Micromax A45 handset; you can say an upgraded version with minor changes.

Just like its predecessor the Micromax A44 Superfone Punk also comes with complimentary headphones and all this for a price of Rs. 4,500. This too is a dual SIM handset which can house two GSM SIM cards with dual standby mode.

Android 2.3.6 gingerbread is the OS that is used which runs smoothly on an 800MHz single core processor. When compared with the Micromax A45 the A44 has got an CPU upgrade from 650MHz to 800MHz. No doubt performance wise the A44 will be better than the A45 version.

The Micromax A44 Superfone Punk is also a bit thicker at 14.3mm and screen size is a bit smaller at 3.1 inches. The capacitive touchscreen display is 320×220 pixels resolution. There is a 2 megapixel camera on the rear.

Other features included are Wi-Fi, GPRS, Bluetooth 2.0, G-sensor and USB 2.0. This phone too does not come with GPS and no word about EDGE network.  There was no 3G on A45 but it did support Edge network, but on the A44 it seems only GPRS is available. The battery is of 1200mAh capacity that promises a standby time of about 9 days and talktime of about 4 hours.
