Meizu today launched  a new octa core handset – the Meizu M5. This handset is powered by MediaTek processor that supports 4G with VoLTE. M5 will be available in 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB ROM options, price starts from RMB 699.

Meizu M5 features and specifications

This dual SIM handset (hybrid slot) is using MediaTek MT6750 8 core (octa core) processor clocked at 1.5GHz, coupled with Mali T860 GPU. The Meizu M5 is running FlyMe OS 5.5 over Yun OS 5.1. Touch screen is 5.2 inches with 2.5D curved glass and supporting 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

M5 will be available in two variants – with 2GB RAM / 16GB ROM and 3GB RAM / 32GB ROM, plus micro SD card support of up to 128GB. Meizu M5 weight with 3070 mAh non-removable battery is 138 grams and handset is 8.1mm thick.

M5 design looks similar to its predecessors. Primary camera on the back can shoot in 13MP resolution and front camera can shoot in 5MP resolution. Rear camera comes with PDAF support, dual tone LED flash and using f/2.2 aperture. Front camera is with f/2.0 aperture. Other features are 4G LTE, VoLTE, 3G, 2G, Finger print sensor, GPS, BT 4.0 and WiFi (dual band).

The M5 will hit the Chinese stores in 5 different color option for RMB 699 (2GB / 16GB) approx Rs. 7K and RMB 899 (3GB / 32GB) approx Rs. 9K.
