Lenovo’s official website has put up notice that states that online websites like Amazon.in, Snapdeal and Flipkart are not authorized Lenovo resellers. Lenovo has also mentioned to check the warranty entitlements before you buy from these mentioned websites.

Furthermore they are encouraging users to either buy from Lenovo exclusive stores / offline stores or buy online from thedostore.com. It is still not clear if Lenovo will respect the warranty if the devices are bought from Amazon, Flipkart or Snapdeal. Instead they are asking users to check the warranty claim before buying.

The 3 online websites namely Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon.in in most cases are not directly selling, they partner with sellers/dealers. Snapdeal and Flipkart have replied back – they have mentioned that they do check if the sellers are authorized to sell the listed products.

Lenovo notice buy it right

It seems that offline sellers are not happy with the online sellers as they are offering heavy discounts. This is not just an issue with Lenovo but other brands like Toshiba India who has warned these sites not to pass promotional schemes that users can avail only from authorized dealer network. Nikon had also issued a similar notice in 2013.
