Kia India has set a new sales record in October 2026, selling 33,462 vehicles in a single month. This is the company’s highest monthly sales figure since it entered India in 2019. The Kia Seltos led the growth, while electric vehicles and CNG models also attracted more buyers.
The new result comes just one month after Kia’s earlier record of 32,017 units in September 2026. Compared with October last year, sales grew by 13.22%. Kia has also crossed its entire 2025 sales total with two months of 2026 still remaining.

Kia India Sales October 2026: Key Numbers
Kia reported wholesale figures, which means the number of cars sent to dealerships. These are not the same as retail sales or customer registrations. Here is how October compares with the previous month and year.
| Sales detail | Figures |
|---|---|
| October 2026 wholesale sales | 33,462 units |
| October 2025 wholesale sales | 29,556 units |
| Year-on-year growth | 13.22% |
| September 2026 sales | 32,017 units |
| Month-on-month growth | Around 4.5% |
| January to October 2026 | 2,86,470 units |
| January to October growth | 21.31% |
| Full calendar year 2025 | 2,80,286 units |
The most interesting figure is the January to October total. With 2,86,470 vehicles sold during these ten months, Kia has already gone past the 2,80,286 units it recorded in the whole of 2025.
Kia Seltos Sales Cross 13,000 Units in October
The latest-generation Kia Seltos was the biggest contributor. It crossed 13,000 units in October, accounting for close to 40% of Kia’s monthly sales.
Since its January 2026 launch, the Seltos has consistently averaged more than 10,000 units per month. That is a strong showing in India’s competitive mid-size SUV market.
The Kia Sonet also continued to bring in buyers in the compact SUV category, helping the company maintain momentum during the festive season.
Kia EV Sales Rise 31%, CNG Models Add Volume
October was also Kia India’s strongest month for electric vehicle sales. EV volumes increased by 31% compared with September, supported by the Syros EV and Carens Clavis EV. Kia has not provided individual sales figures for these EVs.
The Carens and Carens Clavis CNG variants also performed well. Together, CNG vehicles accounted for nearly 10% of Kia’s total October sales. That works out to approximately 3,300 vehicles.
CNG is an attractive option for people who drive frequently and want lower running costs than petrol. Kia’s wider choice of fuel options is helping it reach customers with different requirements.
Kia Sorento Hybrid Adds to the SUV Line-up
The Kia Sorento, available with hybrid and diesel engines, is another important addition to the brand’s Indian portfolio. Kia says customers have shown interest in its technology and the fuel efficiency offered by the hybrid version.
A hybrid combines a petrol engine with an electric motor and battery. It can use electric assistance to reduce fuel consumption, especially in traffic, without needing regular charging from a plug.
What Kia India Said About Its Record Sales
Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Kia India, said the latest record reflects stronger customer confidence and the appeal of the brand’s expanding range.
He credited festive demand, popular models and new launches for October’s performance. He also highlighted the contribution of CNG vehicles and the company’s record EV sales.
Kia’s approach is to offer multiple powertrain choices, including petrol, diesel, CNG, hybrid and electric, rather than depending on one type of vehicle.
Kia Ownership Benefits: Buyback, EV Battery Warranty and BaaS
Kia has expanded its Assured Buyback Programme to cover petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric models. Under the applicable programme conditions, eligible petrol, diesel and hybrid cars can receive up to 75% residual value, while eligible electric models can receive up to 70%.
The company also offers a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty for eligible electric vehicles and a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option. With BaaS, the battery cost is handled through a separate subscription or rental arrangement, reducing the initial vehicle purchase price.
| Ownership programme | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Assured Buyback for petrol, diesel and hybrid | Up to 75% residual value, subject to terms |
| Assured Buyback for electric vehicles | Up to 70% residual value, subject to terms |
| Lifetime HV Battery Warranty | Battery warranty for eligible EV models |
| Battery-as-a-Service | Lower initial purchase price with separate battery payments |
| Certified Pre-Owned network | 144 outlets in India |
Buyback value and warranty eligibility depend on the specific model and programme terms, including ownership period and mileage.
Kia India Network and Current Car Range

What These October Sales Mean for Kia
Kia’s October performance shows that the brand is growing beyond its established Seltos and Sonet models. Demand for electric vehicles, CNG variants and newer SUVs is beginning to make a bigger contribution.
With annual sales for 2025 already surpassed, Kia is in a strong position heading into the final two months of 2026. It will be interesting to see whether demand remains at this level after the festive buying period.
