The Jabra Storm – ‘behind the ear’ Bluetooth headset is not only light weight but also gives very good battery backup. It uses the micro power battery technology that delivers up to 10 hours of talk time on a single charge. The Storm is available for under Rs. 4,000.

Inside the box
You will find the the Jabra Storm, data cable, comfort eargel, quick start guide, warranty certificate and wind sock.

Design
This headset is designed to provide comfortable experience. It easily fits behind the ear and weighs just about 12 grams with battery, it is so light that you will hardly feel anything. The eargel is also pretty comfortable.

There is a micro USB charging port which is nicely covered, volume rockers, on / off switch and call button on the tip. Bluetooth and battery indication are also placed on either side of the on / off button.

Installation
Jabra Storm comes with built in NFC. If you are using an NFC enabled device just switch on the Bluetooth and NFC on your smartphone and bring the Storm closer to the smartphone, that’s it. The other way is to manually pair the device using Bluetooth. You can pair and use up to 2 devices.

Once connected the Call and Media audio output will be via Bluetooth headset. Voice guidance and control are supported. The headset gives out voice response for example when connected it will say ‘connected’. When you receive a call you can say ‘yes’ to accept the call or say ‘no’ to reject the call.

To manually pair the device, switch off the Storm, then switch on and press and hold the call button on the headset for few seconds until the blue Bluetooth led notification starts to blink, that is when you can use your smartphone to scan and pair the device.

Performance
The eargel pops out after some time, but that is not a big issue and I like it that way as it does not completely block the ear external auditory canal. The behind the ear design keeps the eargel in place, comfortably and you don’t really feel like you are wearing a headset.

Sound quality is very good, HD quality – crystal clear on both ends. It is using a Dual Microphone with Noise Blackout technology. Use the wind sock for wind noise reduction.

You can also use the Find My Jabra app to locate your headset in case you misplace it.

Jabra Storm review

Battery
The key highlight about the Jabra Storm is the micro Power battery technology that not only helps manufacturers make smaller headsets but also provides better battery backup. As per the company the headset will give up to 10 hours of talk time.

Battery can be fully charged in about 2 hours. I have been using this headset for almost over a day and the battery is still green, I am not a  heavy user. Power Nap is supported – when idle this device will hardly consume any battery juice.

The battery indicator turns green when there is sufficient power and it turns red when it is low. You will also get voice notification when the battery is low.
