The Intel powered Lava Xolo 900 is already available in the market and it’s still getting a pretty good response. As per reports, Intel is now planning to enter the low cost segment by launching (Intel inside) android handsets with price tag of around Rs. 7,000.

Debjani Ghosh  – Managing Director Sales and Marketing (South Asia) said that the Lava – Intel partnership worked well and their first product was indeed a premium one, now they want to venture into the entry level segment by providing Intel powered handsets for Rs. 7,000 in India.

We have no clue about the handset specifications – all that we know is that it will run on the Android operating system. This low cost Intel – android powered handset will be available by mid 2013.

As of now there are many handsets available in the price range of around Rs. 7K. Intel powered phones will definitely have an advantage, but the specifications are also important. We will have to wait and see if these handsets can compete (in all sense) with the low cost handsets that are currently dominating the Indian markets.
