Huawei Ascend P1 tagged as the first smartphone (LTE) has been launched in India. The handset runs on the LTE 4G networks and as of now Airtel will be the service provider; they have already tied up with Huawei.

The Ascend P1 is available in US but that model will not work in India. The Indian version comes with slight modification i.e. it sails on Qualcomm processor and supports LTE band which is currently used by Indian providers.

There is no word about when the Huawei Ascend P1 will be available in India via Airtel, but Airtel has already started expanding its 4G network – they recently launched LTE services in Pune. The price details of this P1 handset is also not know.

The Ascent P1 comes with a dual core 1.5GHz (Qualcomm MSM 8960) with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.  The AMOLED touchscreen is 4.3 inches supporting a resolution of 960×540 pixels.

The handset runs on the Android 4.0 OS with an 8 megapixel rear camera and a front facing 1.3 MP camera. Additional features are Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth, GPS and micro USB. The battery is of capacity 2000 mAh that should easily last for a day of moderate usage.
