At an ongoing event in San Francisco (as of now), Google’s executive Sundar Pichai has announced the Android one smartphone from Google. It will be a low cost smartphone that will get updates from Google, made by Google in association with Karbonn, Spice and Micromax in India.

The brands namely Micromax, Spice and Karbonn will be part of the Android one program. The Google Android one will be launched in India via these 3 brands and will be priced much cheaper. The one will support DUAL SIM / SD card, come with FM radio and will sport a 4.5 inch screen.

The Android One price will be kept well under $100, the rest of the specifications have not yet been disclosed. Micromax has also partnered with Microsoft and they have recently launched two windows phone smartphones in India for under Rs. 10,000.
