This is a dual SIM handset – It’s a hybrid slot, you can either use 2 x micro SIM or 1 x micro SIM and 1 x micro SD card. There is no LED notification and this smartphone comes with a single navigation button that can be used to go back, check recent apps and jump to home screen.

Memory, Storage and OS

This smartphone sails on Android Marshmallow 6.0 and packed with 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM. On the first boot you will get around 2GB free RAM and 24GB free internal storage space.

Performance

This handset houses the MediaTek Helio P10 MT6755 octa core chipset clocked at 2GHz with Mali T860 GPU. Performance was good, lag free in general. Maximum battery temperature I encountered was 39 degrees.

Benchmark

  • Quadrant – 15263.
  • Antutu (64 bit) – 46283 | 3D score – 7334
  • Nenamark 2 – 54.7fps
  • Internal storage Speed – Read (192MB/s), Write (80MB/s)
  • Multi Touch – 5 Point.

Gaming

I was able to play Asphalt 8 game with screen touch controls (left and right screen touch to control the car movements). There was some issue with the sensors, I tried re-calibration and even restarted the system. Seems like a software bug.

But the game was playable in high visual quality mode.

Camera

There is  a 13MP camera on the rear and 8MP on the front. Rear camera can shoot full HD videos. Camera quality was disappointing, there was too much of yellow tint. Check the sample images and video below.

Others

There is turbo download mode (disabled by default) that makes use of 4G/3G and WiFi simultaneously to download data.

P9000 Lite also comes with special button placed on the left side. You can assign any single app from a list of supported app, when you press that button that selected app will launch instantly.

4G worked on both the SIM slots, no issues with WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth. The sound quality is not that great when compared with other handsets and even the network I felt was weak (voice cut off occasionally).

Battery

There is 3000 mAh non-removable battery that does a decent job. You can expect 4 to 5 hours of continuous moderate to heavy usage on a single charge.

Battery Performance (time / battery % drop / battery temperature).

  • Running Benchmark app – 10 minutes / 3% / 36 degrees
  • Played Asphalt 8 – 24 minutes / 10% / 39 degrees
  • FHD (1080p) video playback with full brightness (WiFi /4G on) – 43 minutes / 13% / 35 degrees

It took me 1 hours 46 minutes to charge the handset using wall charger from 12% to 100% battery.

Verdict

The Elephone P9000 Lite is loaded with really good hardware unfortunately the camera output, sound output and network signal strength is no good.

Elephone P9000 Lite is available for $206.
