The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 does indeed supports dual VoLTE which means that you can use 2 reliance Jio SIM on this handset. This is a very big advantage. Check the video to see it in action and how to setup the SIM’s to enable VoLTE.

Wonder why Asus did not mention about this. I saw a tweet from GeekyRanjit and tried the same and found out to be true. Though by default the dual VoLTE will not work, by default one SIM is set to 2G/3G/4G and other SIM to 2G/3G, but if you tap that option you can set  or force set the network type to 2G/3G/4G.

So not only you can set 4G for both the SIM slots but there is VoLTE enable disable option for both the SIM slots, when you enable that you will be able to use 2 Jio SIM together on this Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 handset. I also tried the following setup – using Airtel in SIM 2 and Jio in SIM 1, for Airtel SIM there was no VoLTE ooption but enabled 4G there and for Jio SIM had 4G and VoLTE enabled.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro supports Dual VoLTE

Then I enabled data on Airtel and I was able to use Jio SIM, no issues. Now such setup will not work on smartphones that do not support Dual VoLTE or Dual 4G, in most cases (on other smartphones) when you select 4G network on one SIM slot the other SIM slot give you only 2G/3G options.

I tried the same setup on Redmi Note 5 Pro, unfortunate if one SIM is set to VoLTE the other SIM has only 2G or 3G option there is no 4G option.

Not sure if this is hardware related or the same can be enabled via OTA update. But for now the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 supports Dual VoLTE and you can use 2 Jio SIM on both the handsets.

This is indeed a big advantage cause there is no dual VoLTE option for this price range i.e. starting from Rs. 10,999.
