Apple has introduced the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 and a new iMac with M6 in India. The laptop starts at ₹2,39,900, while the all-in-one desktop starts at ₹1,74,900. Both become available on 6 November 2026. The choice is straightforward: a portable computer for work away from the desk, or a larger screen that stays in one place.

The cashback programme covers qualifying American Express, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards, subject to its conditions.
Eligible purchases can use up to 12 months of No Cost EMI under the offer running from 11 October to 11 November 2026. This should not be confused with the separate PROLED XDR MacBook Pro, which is restricted to three- and six-month No Cost EMI tenures under the same offer.
14-inch MacBook Pro M6: What Changes?
The new M6 version retains the Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED display. It is different from the separately announced touchscreen PROLED XDR model. The M6 laptop combines a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU with a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple also describes a Neural Accelerator in each GPU core for AI tasks.
Apple claims up to 24 hours of battery life. That is a test result, rather than a promise for every editing session. Heavy rendering, screen brightness and the software in use will affect runtime. For photographers and video editors, the practical attraction is having a built-in screen, keyboard and battery in a machine that can travel between shoots and the desk.
iMac M6: A Desktop with a 4.5K Screen
The iMac keeps its 24-inch 4.5K Retina display and comes in seven colours. Apple lists an entry M6 configuration with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, alongside higher configurations with a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU. The desktop supports up to 32GB of unified memory.
Storage deserves attention before choosing the cheaper configuration. The entry iMac listing has 256GB, compared with 1TB on the entry M6 MacBook Pro listing. A photo library or several video projects can use that space quickly. The iMac suits a fixed workspace, but the lower starting price does not mean the two computers have identical specifications.
Apple Intelligence and Siri AI
Both products form part of Apple’s AI-focused Mac line-up. Apple promotes Siri AI and features across apps such as Mail, Messages and Safari. Siri AI is in beta in macOS 27, with language and regional limits. Some server-based Apple Intelligence features have daily usage limits, and Apple says expanded access will be available for a fee in the future.
Which New Mac Makes More Sense?
The M6 MacBook Pro is the more flexible format for someone who edits at home, carries work to meetings and needs a computer on location. The iMac M6 is worth considering when a bigger built-in display and a tidy desk setup matter more than portability. Check the memory and SSD configuration against the work you actually do, rather than choosing only by the M6 name.
The more expensive MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR display follows a different route: OLED, touch support and M5 Pro or M5 Max chips. Its India availability begins on 9 November, three days after these M6 models.
