Google launched the Android One in India and it was immediately made available within few hours on 3 eCommerce portals. Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO and Karbonn Sparkle V were the one’s available.

Since the android one is backed by Google, it will get assured updates for 2 years. In fact it will be among the first to get the Android L (Android 5.0) – the new Android. The L will also come with Hindi to English translate option. For Google, India is a very important market and it could become the 2nd largest market within few years.

Micromax, Karbonn and Spice are selling the same hardware backed by Google, and it will be Google who will be providing software updates. After sales will be handled by the respective companies. Spice is selling the handset via Flipkart for Rs. 6,299, Karbonn via Snapdeal for Rs. 6,399 and Micromax via Amazon for Rs. 6,499.

Android One will get Android L update

I will be coming up with the review of Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498, soon.
