NXG electronics have now entered the Phablet market by launching the Xfab Phablet which is a dual SIM smartphone that runs on the Android 4.0 OS. This Phablet is priced at Rs. 12,490 with free 8GB MicroSD card and a Scratch Guard.
This Xfab Phablet is powered by a single core 1GHz processor (Cortex A9) with 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory and Micro SD slot (32GB – Class 12). The NXG site says 4GB+8GB the 8GB here refers to the free 8GB card that users will get with this smartphone.
The display screen is big enough at 5.2 inches. It’s capacitive 5 point touch screen with resolution of 800×480 pixels with 16M colours. This handset supports 3G (WCDMA HSPA), 2G, Wi-Fi with hotpot, micro USB with USB tethering, Bluetooth (A2DP & EDR) and GPS with A-GPS.
There is a 5 megapixel camera on the rear with Auto Focus and LED flash light. A front 0.3 MP camera is also present that can work well with Skype. The camera can record HD videos at 720p resolution.

NXG Xfab Phablet weighs 165 grams with a 9.7 mm thickness. The built quality seems really good. Media player can play AVI, FLV, MOV and MP4 files to name a few. A 2000 mAh battery gives power to this handset. The standby / Talktime are not known but probably could last for over a day of heavy usage.

Spice mobiles have still not launched their Mi-500 and the Karbonn A24 is expected to be launched in the month of August. Both these handsets come with dual core processor and the A24 in fact with a better screen resolution. Now considering these options (to be launched) the Rs. 12490 price tag for the NXG Xfab Phablet seems too high. I doubt if users would want to go for it. In case you do want to buy, you can order it from the NXG website – the delivery will start from 10th august 2012.

I love this product. I bought this product because you can do many thing in one tab . size is good nor big nor small. product is very good . I am impress by this product.
I have bought this phablet last week and I m regretting it. It is total waste of money, all the specifications are false.
Though the camera is 8 mpx it records 480 pixel videos and camera is like a 2 mpx camera. It can't even play 720p videos also. I had recorded a video on Xperia mini pro (720p video) and it can't play that properly.
It also has a 5 inch screen not a 5.2 inch. It also takes a long time to completely charge up the battery (approx 2.5 hours) from 15% to 100%
Dear Mr. Omer
Please check the pixel dimensions of taken camera shots, it will be 3264 x 2448 size, which means, it confirms 8 Mega pixels.
Also use MX player, it will play Hd videos. Anyway it is chinese product, but quality is good.
Yes, Mr ram is right, use mx player and it will work. Also I have used this phone and its the best phone ever, for the amount, this is definitely a value for money.
I am planning to buy a phablet in a week, which is better Mercury magiq or NXG fab, pls give me personal advise.
Hello Gogi,
I would like to buy good, dual sim phablet below 15,000 INR, can you please recommand good one for me.
Can anyone share few photos taken with it (indoor + outdoor).
Also if anyone using it can say about its GPU? HD games are playable?
Hi gogi, which has better service support nxg xfab or wammy note?
As per comments from many users the Wammny note (wickedleak) have better support. You can try calling these companies, just ask some queries and check for yourself.
Hello Gogi sir,
Any updates on review of this phone ?
Nope nothing I don't think they are sending the review unit no reply from them.
Hi,
Does the build of the phone looks like Chinese phones with cheap material?
Thanks
Pritam
I have seen demo of NXG Xfab at NXG sells office in Pune. It's looks very impressive and stylish Phablet. Some of features like 3D videos, sound quality is also good. The demo piece which was shown to me gets heated during the call. However, I cross-checked with my friend who is using this mobile from 1 month, he has NOT experienced this heating problem. May be demo piece is faulty.
Can anyone share whether he/she faced the same heating problem during the call? I am seriously thinking to buy this. Your true feedback will help me for sure.
regards,
Pawan
Hi Gogi,
Really it's a great site for the techie lovers, giving excellent information and reviews. I am planning to buy a phablet with a range of 13k (I love big screen mobiles), I have seen your reviews about MMA100, Karbon-A18, Wammy Note and Spice stellar, I need the complete review of NXG Xfab and Kobian mercury magiq, once you have posted the complete reviews of them then we definitely come at a conclusion.
Kindly provide the review for NXG Xfab & Kobian mercury magiq.
Does the NXG xfab support motion sensor games like car racing, labyrinth etc. How good is its precision in games as well as in screen rotation.
Dear Suresh,
I have few more doubts:
1) is the front camera 0.3MP or 1.3 MP?
2) What is the make of CPU and GPU? Is it MTK6575 CPU and SGX531 GPU?
3) Does it have an Anlogue TV antenna like Wammy Note?
4) Does it have magnetic sensor? Wammy note does not have it.
Kindly reply.
JOGY
Dear Jogy,
1. Front cam is 0.3 MP
2. CPU – ARM V7 processor rev 10 / Hardware – MT 6575
3. It has Analogue TV, but it is no use. Even at Chennai, I didn't get local channels (Some times I am getting Doordharshan News , one channel – viewable)
4. It has no magnetic Sensor.
Ram Suresh.
Dear Suresh,
Thank you very much. I was truly under the impression that NXG Xfab has in built Magnetic Sensor! Even though their official site does not speak about it, many other sites provided wrong information and hence forced to the above conclusion. You have truly helped me to take a proper decision as to buy Wammy Note or Xfab.
Wammy Note advantage (Xfab data): 1.3 MP (0.3MP in Xfab), specified SAR level of <0.55 W/kg (no data for Xfab), Rs 11300/- (12,490/- for Xfab)
Xfab advantage (Wammy note data): 2800 mAh battery (2500 mAh in wammy), wide spread service centre support ( only at Mumbai for wammy note with DTDC/Bluedart courier pick up at other locations), Compact LOGO (ugly and BIG logo in Wammy note)
I would prefer to buy Wammy Note, provided they change its LOGO with a smart looking & compact one.
JOGY
Dear Suresh,
Your smartphone has in-built GPU named SGX531, similar to the one found in wammy note. Now-a-days, smart people does not make separate CPU (for data processing) and GPU (for image processing) as found in old computers. Instead, they make SoC (System on Chips), which is a combination of all the required elements like CPU, GPU, 3G modem with 7 to 40 Mbps speed, WiFi etc on the same chip! This is how the smartphones become really smart! For more info:

JOGY.
Dear Ram ,
Have you enquired about the SAR values of Xfab ? Iam not able to get it anywhere. Howz the overall performance of this phablet ? I want to purchase one in another weeks time.
HI George,
These are the answers:
1. Yes, it has wifi direct and streaming videos are good. (flash installed default).
2. Camera is 8 MP, but quality is not upto 8 MP ( may be 5 MP- compared to branded phones).
3. Battery is Li—ion and it is 2800 mAh.
4. yes, it has EPO assistance in GPS.
5. NO, I didn't get 8 GB card, dealer says, now there are no offers. I didn't even get a warranty card in my box, but dealer says, bill is eligible for warranty.
Thanks, Nice day.
SURESH.
Dear RAM,
Thanks for clearing my doubts.
The camera resolution 8MP/5MP may be identified taking a snapshot and identifying its dimensions from Win 7. For eg, image taken using 12 MP Sony handheld camera reads 4000×3000 pixels = 12 MPixels = 12MP.
The NXG site says that a special offer of 8GB SD card (Rs 400) + a scratch guard (Rs 200) + free shipping (Rs 200) =Rs 800/- free will provided to those who book before 5th Aug 2012. If you did not get 8GB card, then they might have stopped the offer later.
Kindly clarify.
JOGY
Dear Mr. George,
1. The pixel dimensions are 3264 x 2448 (Taken by snapshot and dimensions from image details of phablet). I think it means 8 MP.
2. Yes, now there are no offers from NXG for XFAB.
Ram Suresh.
Dear Suresh,
I have few doubts regarding NXG Xfab. Can you please clear it?
1) Does it have WiFi-Direct? Did you try streaming videos?
2) Is the rear Camera 8MP or 5 MP?
3) Is the battery Li-ion or Li-polymer? What is the rated mAh?
4) Does it have EPO assistance in GPS?
5) Did you get additional 8GB SD card?
Expecting your reply;
JOGY GEORGE.
Dear Mr. Gogi and Friends,
Good day.
I bought this phablet before 1 week and i use now. Phab is very good.
But I think that It is manufactured by the following company
http://www.szsuff.com/sdp/432923/4/pd-2422217/103…
Because , the phablet's inside battery bottom panel has a logo of ' Dapeng' and model no is A9230.
Also, I think that M/s . Nxg has changed the firmware to ICS and increased the battery capacity to 2800 mah. Other specifications are exactly same as the above China company product.
I was facing a single issue only. sometimes , the 3g data connection is dead (for hours). I think , some non market applications do this problem, after uninstalling those, the data connection works.
Other than 3d games are good ( checked Asphalt 5 and angry birds).
3g download speed is very good (400 KB/sec).
Other all are good (everything in the Android device)
If you dont mind that this is chinese (I respect Chinese, because of this product)made, but service is by M/s NXG,
Go for it, you wont regret.
No other problems , i am facing now. If you face any issue, after buying,
dont blame me.
Thanks.
Hi gogi.
Could you please review the NXG XFAB so we get an idea before buying it.
Please suggest any another product with same spec.
Regards
MOHIN
hi,
the processor here is cortex A9. how is it different from arm v7 processor? which is better in terms of speed?
Dear Gogi
I am planning to buy this phablet so pls review this with wammy note and say which is best i am eagerly waiting for ur review .Thanks in advance .Actually i was planning to buy wammy note but it has service centre only in mumbai but NXG has service centres throught india since both phablets have nearly same specifications i am planning to go with NXG XFAB
please review this phone in detail with unboxing video. compare it with MMX A100, WAMMY NOTE AND KARBONN A18
Dear Gogi
Please review this phablet I am in confusion whether to buy wammy note or this so if you review and say which is best I will buy, because your reviews are always the best and trustworthy.
Vijay I have asked for a review piece but they have not replied. The specs are a little different like 5.2 inch screen and cortex A9 processor but more details are not available so can't really say anything.
Hi,
When are you going to review this XFab phone?
The XFab specs at the NXG Electronics (at http://nxgelectronics.in/xfab.html) mentions the rear camera to be 8.0 Megapixels (as opposed to 5.0 Megapixel mentioned on your blog post here). The screen of XFab is mentioned to be 16 million colours.
The specs do not mention presence of Accelerometer while these do mention Gravity Sensor. Please let us know the pros and cons of Accelerometer Versus Gravity sensor.
Please compare this and Wammy Note and Micromax A100 in terms of build quality and Voice Quality also.
Any information on dual core dual sim android phone with 5 inch screen with gyroscope etc. coming up in September / October ?
regards
Rohit
P.S. : To NXG Electronics Team : When would you bring dual core version of this Phablet (eg. Micromax is bringing Dual Core Dual SIM A90 in September, 2012).
Any update from NXG regarding sending you review piece?
Yes this week.
Hi,
Did you got the review piece?
Regards,
Arpit
Arpit, no nothing and no emails from NXG.
Xtab A10 3G @9990 is seems good for on the go internet.
I have xtab A10 8GB and it is working fine. Specially with full HD MKV Video too. Till now I don't have any video which not playing on My A10 8GB.
Now I want to know for Upgraded tab-
1- Is every 3g or 2g sim supports on Xtab A10 3G for voice & video call with full internet surfing ?
2- It can play almost every video as the A10 8GB plays or not ?
3- What is the Pros & Cons of Xtab A10 3G ?
Please clear my doubts. So that I can buy this tab form NXG.
Ajay, I have not seen the tab so I am not sure about it. But based on the specifications.
1. It should support any SIM card (unlocked am sure it does) and its 3G so it will be backward compatible with 2G.
2. Yes it can do all that the A10 did.
3. I have not tested it so really cannot comment.
For the chinese version of this phone access below link .
http://android-sale.com/galaxy-note-i9920-android…
Again one more knock off ! this Chinese star note phone, galaxy note cheap knock off. These people are trying to dump Indian markets with cheap phones.
@gogi:: Can we get a unboxing and a full review of this phablet from you…. It will be a great to have a review on this…
I have sent an email to NXG asking for the same lets see.
I want to buy a android mobile within range of 8,000 with good picture quality, good streaming for live tv, dual sim and a good cpu. Plz advise me the best option.
Before launching more phones and tablets nxg should open service centers at least 1 center in each state first.
Please tell me about karbonn A3.
Please tell me which is better to buy
Samsung Tab2 3g @18500
or
Xtab A10 3G @9990
Ajay, of course Tab 2 from Samsung is much better if you can afford it.
