WP Super Cache upgrade: Version 1.0

If you are using WP Super Cache to speed up your WordPress site, it is time to upgrade to a newer version, the WP Super Cache 1.0. The latest version come with many bug fixed and some new features.

Speed plays an important role, the faster your website the better. Speedy sites not only impress the visitors but also keep the search engines happy. For WordPress there are a number of free plugins available that can speed up the site within few minutes with minimal setting.

The most popular ones are the W3 Total cache, WP Super Cache and Hyper Cache. I have tried the W3 Total Cache but I am more comfortable with the WP Super Cache plugin.

• If you want to delete the WP Super cache you would browse through the left menu area looking for settings then clicking the WP Super cache link and then in Easy tab you get the delete cache button. But now in 1.0 version the delete cache button is available in the admin menu bar. You can now clear the cache from any pages via the top admin menu bar when browsing your site, logged on as admin.

• If you have used WP Super Cache before you may be aware of the preload cache option wherein the posts are preloaded and cache files created are then server to visitors. Well in the newer version the tags and categories are also added to the list.
• Many errors, plugin traps and bugs have been fixed with improved mobile support.
• In advanced setting you will now find a secret key that you can use to view any pages uncached. Just attach the key at the end of url ?donotcachepage=secretkey and you will see the uncached version of the page. This can be useful when testing pages with cache still on.
