The display quality is very good and easily visible under direct sunlight, even the viewing angles are great. The orientation can be changed to horizontal or vertical. This is basically a fitness centric device – there is pedometer to record steps and calories burned, the exercise mode (running, cycling, walking and hiking + exercise history) and heart rate.
When using the fitness mode the heart rate is constantly checked. The heart rate sensor will emit the green light when active.
Apart from the exercise mode the Fit can also be used as a watch (looks great). You can read notifications (SMS’s) and even reply back using predefined text. You can also control the media on your smartphone using the media controller via the Gear Fit device. Other features are timer, stop watch and sleep (monitor your sleep pattern).
