Call it the Karbonn A24 effect or something else, but the most awaited handset the Spice Mi-500 or Spice Stellar Horizon Mi-500 has been delayed. You can expect the launch to happen by end of August 2012 or by early September.
The Spice Mi-500 and Spice Mi-355 was expected to be in the market by June end but for some unknown reasons the handset was delayed. I was waiting desperately for this handset but then Karbonn A24 was announced, and I am planning to go with A24.
The Spice Stellar Horizon Mi-500 comes with a 5 inch screen running ICS with a 1 GHz processor (dual core). The Mi-500 is priced at Rs. 12,000. The key features are 5MP autofocus camera, 2150 mAh li-ion battery, Wi-Fi, GPS, front VGA camera, 3.5mm jack, 512 MB RAM and internal storage of 4GB. Micro SD card up to 32GB is also supported.
Karbonn is busy working to launch some more handsets with impressive features and even the not so popular G-Five have now entered this smartphone segment, any further delays by Spice isn’t going to help the company.
Spice did launch the Mi-425 that got a good response, however Spice Stellar Craze Mi-355 and Spice Stellar Horizon Mi-500 never made it. I am not sure if the delay is because of production or in response to other handsets that were recently announced. This August will be a very important month for smartphone manufacturers and the consumers; who will be the first one to do it!

The above picture shows the display has only 1 network, what's the catch or have I missed something?

Is the mi 500 delayed due to the problems found in it? Now I think we should not buy this mobile as the first stock in market may be error prone and hence the delay in launch to correct those.

I am waiting for spice mi500 from last 2 months but it is not released yet. Have you any news from spice about the release of this phone. The specs are very impressing thats why i want to buy it. I was making my mind to buy micromax a100 also due to delay of mi500 but some comments about a100 changed my mind. Is there any other good option up to 12k price so that i can get my money value.
I think by end of this month we should see Mi-500 or A24 or both. There are issues with A100 but it happens with every handset, not a major one or something that every model has.
hi gogi I still couldn't make up my mind to buy a single phone after going through all review and now this spice horizon is coming. I have never used Spice brand yet so plz suggest me a good phone around 10k, should I wait for karbonn a21 or should I go for brands like sony, samsung, htc, lg etc by paying extra 4 to 5k. I am totally confused need a phone that really value for money and stay new as long as I want. You know every updates so plz suggest a good phone buddy if you say wait then I will wait but plz tell me..

Even with 4K to 5K extra you will miss out some features on higher brand phones. For 10K go for A100, check the reviews and views of users in the comment section. Karbonn / Spice launch I think will happen after August, probably in Sept / oct.
