The 2nd gen smartband from Sony goes official it is called the Sony SmartBand 2. This fitness tracker comes with built-in heart rate sensor and with 3 LED notification lights, plus it is water resistant. The price tag has not yet been revealed.
Sony SmartBand 2 is just like other fitness band, it can monitor your steps and sleep pattern. This device is compatible with Android KitKat (4.4.x) + above and iOS 8.2 + above. Weight is just 25 grams and this band is IP68 certified that makes it dust proof and water resistant (immersion beyond 1m up to specified pressure).
SmartBand 2 comes with a wrist strap and core unit. There are 3 colourful LED’s for notifications. This band supports Bluetooth 4.0 (Low Energy BLE), NFC and also includes a heart rate sensor. The heart rate monitor constantly checks your pulse (stress levels) when you are active or idle.
This band will vibrate gently when there is any SMS message or a call. Sony SmartBand 2 comes with 58 mAh battery that as per the company gives backup of up to 5 days.
