The Sony Ericsson Xperia NEO V handset running on Gingerbread OS will hit the Indian market by October 12. The Xperia NEO V by Sony Ericsson is a trimmed down version (including the price) of its predecessor the Xperia Neo.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia NEO V comes with a 5 megapixel camera where as the older version of Sony Ericsson Xperia NEO featured an 8 megapixel camera apart from this the specifications are similar.
Sony Ericsson Xperia NEO V features
The NEO V is a full touch screen 3G phone that runs on the Android 2.3 OS and houses a 1 GHz Scorpion processor (single core). The display screen is of size 3.7 inches with multi touch support and powered by the Mobile Bravia Engine. This is the same technology that is used on the Sony Bravia TVs. The display quality is too good and the supported resolution of 845 x 480 pixels even makes it better.

Camera
With a slightly lower megapixel as compared with its predecessor the Sony Ericsson Xperia NEO V still isn’t bad. The 5 MP camera comes with LED flash that does well even in low light conditions. The camera supports HD recording (1280 x 720 pixels at 30 fps). There is a secondary camera too of VGA resolution. Camera features are red eye reduction, auto focus, touch focus, image / video stabiliser, geo tagging, face / smile detection, picture blogging and 3D Sweep Panorama.
Memory and Storage
The Sony Ericsson Xperia NEO V comes with 320 MB of internal storage and 512 MB RAM. You can add additional memory by using microSD card (up to 32GB).
Connectivity
This is a 3G /2G Phone with built in Wi-Fi which can be used as Wi-Fi hotspot. Other features are GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 2.0 and HDMI Port (for connecting to HDTV).
Battery
The 1500 mAh Li-Po battery gives a decent talktime of 6 hours on 2G network and standby of 430 hours on 2G and up to 400 hours on a 3G network.

The handset is available in selected location. I got this mobile on 5th October from a retail store in Vashi (New Mumbai). Check out mobile stores around your location, they have the handset with them.
