Google launched last week an update to its ranking algorithm that has upset, in fact hurt a lot of webmasters. The update intended to sieve out webspam from its rankings and prevent over-optimization was launched without a name earlier but later called ‘Penguin’. The name maybe quite apt, webmasters feel, as the new algo sees everything in black or white – as either genuine content or spam.
