Samsung Galaxy Beam set to debut in India this April

The Samsung Galaxy Beam is yet another projector smartphone that will soon make its way into the Indian markets. There are quite a few projector phones available in the market but what makes this Galaxy Beam unique is the high end features and of course the Android OS.

The Galaxy Bean is powered by a dual core 1 GHz processor and runs on gingerbread Android 2.3 OS with TouchWiz user interface. This smartphone is 12.5 mm thick with the projector placed on the top. This handset comes with internal memory of 8 GB and microSD support up to 32 GB. The touchscreen display supports WVGA resolution and is of size 4 inches.

Other exciting features are the 5 MP camera, Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth and GPS. The Beam will come with a 2000 mAh battery. There is no word about the exact release date and the price, but looking at the specifications and the unique projector feature this Samsung handset may cost somewhere around Rs. 30,000.

The 15 lumen projector bulb has a life of about 20,000 hours and can project the image up to 50 inches. You can create own home theatre by projecting the movie output on the wall or house ceiling. There is a lot you can do with the projector for example watch movies, photos and use it for presentations (Word/ PowerPoint / Excel). On a full battery charge you can use the projector for almost 3 hours.
