After launching the Panasonic P51, Panasonic is now coming out with Panasonic KX-PRX120 an android based cordless phone (land-line). The box pack includes a smartphone that can make/receive land-line calls when it is within range with the base station.

The touch screen handset looks like a mobile phone and comes with a DECT (wireless) stand. Up to 6 handsets can be connected / paired with the base station. The Panasonic KX-PRX120 capacitive touch phone sports a 3.5 inch TFT screen with 480×320 pixels resolution.

This handset runs on Android ICS OS and has full android features that you would find on any other android phone. However the handset cannot be used when on the move, it can be used as far as the DECT signal is available (in an around the house).

Interestingly the press release does not mention anything about the hardware (CPU / GPU). Panasonic KX-PRX120 comes loaded with built in Wi-Fi – you can use it to download apps from Google play, Bluetooth – for connecting hands free or other compatible devices and GPS. GPS seems an odd-one-out since this is kind of a land-line phone with smart feature; nevertheless you can take the phone outdoor but you will not be able to make / receive calls.

There is a front camera of VGA resolution, micro SD support, can be used as answering machine with 40 minutes recording time, called ID, in/out going call barring and micro USB port for charging. The battery is 1450 mAh capacity. Panasonic KX-PRX120 falls in the premium category – the price is not known.
