Nokia had announced two new handsets the Nokia 101 and the Nokia 100, and now these affordable handsets will soon be made available in the Indian markets. The Nokia 101 is a dual SIM 2G phone with a hot swappable MicroSD card slot and with a powerful battery life.
If you are looking for a handset with a price lower than Rs. 2,000 the choices are plenty. In fact the latest addition is the Micromax X222 a touchscreen phone which is priced at Rs. 1,900 only.
Nokia 101 features
Unlike the Nokia 100 this low cost Nokia handset supports Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) and also comes with hot swappable microSD slot with card supported up to 16 GB. With Dual SIM you get the opportunity to use two different networks from a single handset simultaneously. Do note that both the SIM are active when not in use but when a particular SIM is used for say calling / receiving call etc the other SIM will become inactive.
The 101 handset weighs 71 grams with dimension 110 x 45.5 x 14.9 mm. The looks, design and the keypad spacing is same as compared with Nokia 100. The Nokia 101 also comes with a 1.8 inch screen with a TFT display supporting 65k colours on the 128 by 160 pixel resolution.
Battery life is extremely good you get up to 32 days standby time and up to 8.5 hours of talk time from BL-5C 1020 mAh Li-Ion battery. Other features of this Nokia Mobile Phone are MP3 can be used as ringtones, 20 colourful themes, up to 5 SIM card names / icons can be memorized / customized, flash light, alarm clock, pres-installed games, music player, contacts and calendar.
