Nikon has announced two new models the J1 and V1 in India. Some of the main features of Nikon 1 J1 camera are high speed AF COMOS sensor, 1080p video recording, photo animation experience and continuous shooting mode at 10 FPS. The J1 though compact gives you the performance of an SLR.
The J1 point and shoot camera comes with Nikon 1 revolutionary system that ensures image precision even with compact lenses. The end result is that you get incredibly quite, superior and fast autofocus from a compact device. The J1 comes with 1 Nikkor – a high performing, light weight and compact lens. Another feature called the smart photo selector gives you the best of the best, the camera does all the work for you giving you more time to enjoy the moment.

Even though the camera looks compact it comes with advanced features and with interchangeable lenses. The J1 comes with Nikon 1 lens mount. The camera can capture images in 12 megapixel resolution with continues AF.
There are different shooting modes like still photography, smart photo selector, movie mode (HD), slow motion movie and motion snapshot. The 73 point AF makes sure that you get the best shots every time – clear and focused.
For storage you can use SD / SDHC / SDXC media, there is 1 secure digital (SD) card slot. There is a TFT LCD viewfinder of size 3 inches with brightness adjustment. For external connectivity you can use high speed USB port and HDMI output to plugin with HD TV’s.
The Nikon 1 J1 comes with Multilanguage support along with date, time, daylight and world time settings. The EN-EL20 Li-ion battery powers up this unit with a life of about 230 shots. The camera body weighs 234 grams. This camera comes with built in flash with various flash modes (Slow Sync, red eye reduction, fill flash etc.).
Nikon 1 J1 is available in India for Rs. 29,900 with 10-30mm VR kit lens. Colour options Black, Silver, White and Red.
