Mobile Phones with Dual Camera for video calls price list

Just because your mobile handset has 3G features it does not mean you can use the video calling facility. Technically for video calling your handset needs to have a secondary camera placed somewhere on the front side. So when you are video calling you are looking at the other person’s image on your mobile display screen at the same time the camera that is present in the front is also capturing your image and sending to the other person.

So if you are buying a mobile phone or a smartphone especially for video calling make sure it does have a secondary camera. There are many 3G handsets available in the Indian market from low price 3G handsets to high end models however even high end models sometimes feature only one primary camera. Even with a secondary camera the handset may not support video calling it will be better if you cross check when you buy any handset with dual cameras. Older version of android phones do not support native video calling but you can use apps like Skype etc to get the video calling feature. The Android (Gingerbread) and above does support native video calling.

Please do not give any misleading information without verifying. None of Google's Android based phone has 3G based video calling. All these phones support video "Chat" and not video call.

Dear Rahul,

Native video calling is not supported on Android, but some handsets do support them either using UMTS network of over the IP.

Hi native video calling means using the SIM network (not via IP). If native video call is enabled you will see the video call option in the dialer. Take any android phone with front camera and Wi-Fi and you can use skype for video calling / chat. Over the IP is different. Even with Skype you can video chat and initiate 1-to-1 video calls ( you need to pay for video calls made to a phone).

Android 2.3 and over supports native video calling. However some handsets like the Neo have disabled the feature, it could be cause of hardware limitations.
