Intel will soon be launching a 7 inch tablet made especially for student, called the Intel StudyBook. This tablet will come loaded with educational software’s and consumers can choose from Android 3.0 or Windows 7 operating system.
As far as the specifications are concerned the tablet houses a Z650 Intel Atom processor which can run the windows 7 or the android OS. The capacitive touchscreen is 7 inches and will support 1024 by 600 pixels resolution which is just perfect, especially when you will be using the tablet for reading.
According to Intel the StudyBook are made tough, drop it from a height of up to 3 feet and the tab will still work. This tablet is about half kg in weight and is also dust and water resistant. This device will come with 1 GB RAM and internal storage of 4 GB to 128 GB (optional). There will be 2 camera (Front / Back), a mic and display (light) sensors.
The tablet specifications do meet the minimum requirement by Windows 8, so it is possible to upgrade to the latest Windows OS and possible Android too. Other features that this tablet will come loaded with are HDMI port and USB 2.0. All the ports are covered with rubber gasket.
This is all we know for now, the possibility of a built in SIM slot looks slim, there is no word as to when this tab will be available in India. As for the price if rumors are to be believed it will be well under $199, in India probably under Rs. 15,000.
