Another company called ICE X electronics have unveiled their branded tab called the ICE Xtreme – 7 inch low cost tab powered by Allwinner A10 processor for a price of Rs. 6,999. There is nothing new it’s the same hardware found on other brands.
The low cost tablet market in Indian has a lot of potential to grow and it is for this reason that many new companies are entering this market with their own branded product. The Micromax Funbook created a lot of buzz and it was after their success that many new companies are venturing into this domain.
These companies make contacts in china where the manufacturing process takes place; they place the order which are then shipped back to India. The company in India then provides support, services and even creates customized ROM for better performance. Most of the companies have a base only in a particular state and are depending on courier service for pick and drop facility.
The ICE Xtreme tablet features are identical with some good additions which does justice to the price tag. Check out the tablet specifications to find out more.

ICE Xtreme key features and specifications
- Allwinner A10 CPU + Mali 400 GPU @ 1GHz.
- 1GB DDR3 RAM, total 16GB storage (8GB NAND + 8GB T-Flash).
- MicroSD support up to 32GB.
- Android 4.0.3 (ICS).
- 7 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen (5 point multi touch) with 800×480 pixels resolution.
- 2MP front facing camera with recording.
- Multi format media player and access to Google play.
- Wi-Fi, external 3G support via compatible dongle, UBS 2.0 + Mini USB and HDMI port.
- Tablet weights 375 grams with 11mm thickness.
- Comes with 3 layer screen protector, G-Sensor and Accelerometer.
- Battery at an amazing 4700 mAh – usage time unknown, but will be definitely better than most low cost tabs.
ICE X electronics did manage to get better features into the ICE Xtreme tablet. The price though may look a bit on the higher side, but once you go through the specifications you will not mind. What I like in the specs / features is the 4700 mAh battery that is just too good (hopefully the tab will come with what the company promises), the triple layer screen protector, the storage 8GB NAND plus 8GB T-Flash and of course the 1GB DDR3 RAM. All this running on ICS and with a Jelly bean update (hopefully) it will be an icing on the cake.
You can check out the tab or for more info on the ICE X Electonics website.

@Gogi , Please do a review of “ainol novo 7″ crystal you can buy it from ‘www.ainolindia.com’
Any word if it will get jellybean upgrade?
@Gogi We appreciate your interest and thanks for spreading the word!
@Himanshu, it does not have SIM slot, it supports external 3G dongles for net connectivity
@Gogi There is no product available with 4700 mAh battery and other components we have used in the tablet. It has been developed through our own technical team, so pls. avoid assuming it to be just another Chinese tablet.
@all service centres are managed through third party networks, who we provide training and spares for handling our products, so they do handle other brands. This is the case with most brands as it makes sense to club service expertise to be able to deliver service closest to the customer's home and at an affordable price, it does not harm the customer, only helps them. Pls. feel free to buy the most powerful budget tablet and should you face any issue, you can contact us at support@icexelectronics.com
You will hear more about ICE X in days to come as we launch products which would be first in the world in its category, so keep watching and don't miss out on the opportunity to be among the founding members of ICE X family, you will certainly get exclusive privileges for life.
But your http://www.icexelectronics.com/Technical%20Specif…
says = Li-Polymer Long Lasting 4700 mAh?
@Gogi Yes, our tablet has long lasting 4700 mAh battery, which we have got specially designed. There is no other product with such features. Face Unlock is also there on ICE Xtreme, which is not there on any other budget tablet in India. So it is not just another product. We have put lot of efforts in designing this. That is the point. Hope it was helpful.
Thanks for your update. There is indeed some confusion about the battery capacity. The website of ICEX Electronics shows both figures (4700mAH and 4000mAH) – it would be better if the website is updated and the confusion removed. Except for that one little ambiguity, the specs. are quite clear.
Dear Santosh,
please let me know does it really comes with 2G/3G SIM SLOT …???

Himrana

Not necessarily bad. I know one service center in my area and they represent half a dozen companies including Fly, Celkon and a few more. As you mentioned, they may take up simple repairs and send the piece to the company for more complicated repairs.
@S V Swamy:: Sir, so they don't have any dedicated service center only for their customer. So the service has to be slow as they deal lot of companies. After reading the article and checking the product on their site I was also very much excited to go for this. But now certainly I will wait for gogi's review on this.
OK. Even big brands that have their own dedicated service centers face a lot of complaints from customers regarding delays, caused in their case by the sheer volume of the sales and thus a large number of complaints too. Small companies can't afford such dedicated service centers.
A review is useful only to a limited extent – it may bring out whether the performance is as expected from the specifications or not. However, problems arise in individual pieces (even big brands face that problem) and how good or how bad is the service will be known only then.
Then there comes the risk factor. Which people like me can't afford. Anyways I will wait for a review from gogi… If you buy it, then please post your review here.It will be helpful also…
Sure, I will but again my experience need not be same as yours. I am a Quality Assurance / Quality Control / Testing and Inspection specialist in manufacturing sector (I am a metallurgist) and am aware of the statistical fluctuations. Since these are new products, you won't find real user experience reviews, esp. relating to service standards.
If you can't afford the risk, the better option is to stick to big and established brands but then they would be more expensive….
@gogi:: How can two different company's service center could be in the same address. I am amazed to see this. ICE and SWIPE have the same SERVICE CENTER addresses of WEST BENGAL, KOLKATA in their website's service center section. Is it possible? Is these fraud kind of something?
Subrata, thanks for letting us know this. I checked with Maharashtra / thane and on both ICE and Swipe site the address is the same. I am not sure if they have copied the list. Also many companies approach shops who act as service center, all they do is collect the item and ship it to the company and after fixing the company will send it back. In some cases they do have a person appointed who will fix the issue if needed.
But if you check any service center its exactly the same on both the sites, either they are same people with different company or just copied the list. It does not look good, seems suspicious. Be cautious when dealing with them.
@gogi:: I'll keep it in mind…
@gogi:: Will we get an UNBOXING and FULL REVIEW for this tab form you?
Subrata, not sure I have asked for a review piece from the company let's see.
Definitely one of the best tablets from the specification point of view. The list of dongles that are compatible is also quite extensive. Thinking of buying…
