The Andi 4IPS Tiger from iBall comes powered by MediaTek quad core processor running Android Jelly Bean 4.2 with 512MB RAM and 4GB storage. The Tiger is available for approx Rs. 6,500 and it is best to avoid this, there are better options available.

Box pack: The box contains handset, 1300 mAh battery, screen guard, warranty card, user guide, data cable, travel charger and earphone.

Design and Display
The Andi 4IPS Tiger doesn’t really look that appealing. The rear is plastic, royal blue color with glossy finishing and the sides are silver colored. Overall look wise the handset is not at all appealing. There is a mic at the bottom, power button and volume rockers are on the left, micro USB port and 3.5mm audio jack is on the top.

4IPS Tiger is pretty light weight at 109 grams (with battery) and thickness is 10.97mm. Screen is 4 inches (IPS) with WVGA (800 x 480) pixels resolution. Viewing angles are not that great, but touch is smooth and responsive.

There are 2 sensors accelerometer and orientation. There is no light and proximity sensors .

Memory, Storage and OS
Of the 4GB storage, 819MB is available for apps, and 1.65GB is the internal user usable storage. Micro SD card is supported and you can install / move apps to external storage. Android 4.2 runs out of the box with 512MB RAM. The free RAM on first boot is 310MB.

OTG is not supported. I tried connecting a pen drive, it did not work, however the earphone icon showed up on the screen when OTG was connected, seems like some issue with the software.

Performance
The iBall Andi 4IPS Tiger is powered by 1.3GHz MT6582 quad core processor with Mali 400 MP GPU. The hardware performance is very good.

Benchmark Scores

App Result
Quadrant 7276
Antutu 17064
Vellamo HTML5 (1964) Metal (572)
Nenamark 2 61.2fps
Multi Touch 2 point

Camera and Entertainment
The handset can play FHD videos. There are dual cameras. Rear camera is 5MP with LED flash and there is front camera of 2MP resolution. The camera quality is no good; it’s a fixed focus camera. The rear camera can record 1080p videos, quality is not that good.

Gaming
High end games can be played on this handset. You can also install the games on external storage. MC4 and Asphalt 8 game play was smooth.

Others
No issues found, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth worked well. The OS is customized and there are several themes you can choose from (check video). This is a dual SIM handset with 3G support. The SIM 1 is normal SIM and SIM 2 is micro SIM.

Battery
There is a 1300 mAh removable battery. I used the handset for 31 minutes battery dropped by 16 percent and max temperature was 43 degrees. The estimated moderate usage time is up to 3 hours. It will be even less if you are playing high end games.

Verdict
Though the hardware is powerful some key features are missing and over all the handset isn’t that appealing. There is no light sensor and no proximity sensors either, RAM is 512MB and the rear camera is 5MP but fixed focus. There are enough reasons to avoid buying this handset.
