BSNL has launched a pocket sized Wi-Fi router called the Winknet MF50 for a price tag of Rs. 5,800.  This portable router can house a single SIM and using Wi-Fi users will be able to connect multiple devices.

This 3rd gen Wi-Fi router will be able to connect up to 5 devices simultaneously. Shyam Networks will be selling this router with BSNL SIM cards pre-installed. You will not be able to use this router with any other SIM as it will be locked for BSNL connection only.

Users will need to pay for the router and an extra Rs. 60 for a plan with 1GB free data usage. BSNL will be announcing some more affordable 3G plans later. This is good news for users already subscribed to the BSNL network.

We do not have more info about the MF50 router, but since it is a pocket router probably it will be able to on batteries too. A Wi-Fi router does have a lot of advantages and a portable one, even more.
